Volunteering track

ABOUT

Founded in 2023 in Rye, NY, Tiles for Hope began as a volunteer club, partnered with Broadview Independent Living Center. Our members have since had so many incredible and enriching experiences learning from our local seniors.

Because of this, volunteering is a key pillar of our program; we expect that chapter leaders lead initiatives in 1 of 3 tracks: Volunteering, Advocacy, and Civic Engagement.

IMPACT

70+

  • We have reached and played with 70 + individual seniors.

17+

  • Our chapters have teams with an average of 17+ student volunteers dedicated to the cause.

400+

  • We have reached 400+ collective volunteer hours – just from volunteer groups at senior centers!

$1000+

  • Through fundraisers like our annual Walk-A-Thon and food sales, we have raised $1000+ for the American Alzheimer’s Association.

WANT TO JOIN?

In the Volunteer track, if you are a chapter leader: you must identify a partner organization, such as a local senior center or memory care facility of your choosing (see this email template), and set up Mahjong or other board game (of your choice!) volunteer groups to foster intergenerational connections. Our recommendation is to volunteer an average of 1 hour/week at minimum. Please note that the norm, however, is 2 hours/week.
However, if there is already a chapter in your local area, you must contact the chapter leader to let them know that you will be coming to volunteer.
